Artist's description:

"Remembrances" is a new series that I am working on. I am using vintage photos I found in albums left after my parents died. Some of the people I know and others are mysteries to me. I like to image what their stories and lives were like.

When I was a child, there was a large photo of my Mother's mother on the wall in the attic. My grandmother died before I was born, but I visited that image often and hoped she could hear my conversation and connect with me.

This painting is on cradled board and needs no framing.

Materials used:

ink, charcoal, encaustic wax, oil paint
