Artist's description:

This piece is a focus on the Renaissance painting "The Four Apostles" (Left) by Albrecht Dürer (1526). I used metallic gold and red in the piece as a reference to illuminated manuscripts and the religious symbolism of divinity. I felt red should be the primary focus as, in the original, John's red cloak dominates the composition and represents passion and intensity, emotions frequently felt with dogmatic beliefs.

The painting is on 140lb cold pressed Arches watercolor paper and I used Golden acrylics.
Arrives ready to hang in a white float mat and a black wooden box frame.
All materials are archival to extend the longevity of the piece.

Materials used:

acrylic paint and pallet knife
