The Teewaterkloof Dam (Teewater means 'tea water' and this comes from the tannins that colour the water a dark tan) is a massive body of water just outside the town of Franschoek (French Corner). This dam is surrounded by towering mountains that feed the levels during times of rain. Outside of the Winter months, the dam is dry with patches of white sand and dry grasses. The light over this dam is pastel at midday. This is a very pleasing work that depicts this very important volume of water in the Western Cape. This work is on a deep frame and therefore can be hung without being framed. 19.8x15cm
