Artist's description:

"Tara Gold" shows an aerial view of the world renowned prehistoric site at Tara, Co. Meath in Ireland. Tara was the site of the High Kings of Ireland in ancient times.
The image is, as imagined, looking from South to North, and depicts a winter view of the hill site.
The print was created as a Photopolymer Intaglio plate of a hand-drawn image, and was combined with a Chine Colle backing on Chinese Rice Paper.

Strangely, when I look at this print, it reminds me of an abstraction of the 8th Century world famous Tara Brooch, which is now housed in the National Museum of Ireland. Out of curiosity I researched further, to find that the Tara Brooch, which was found on a beach near Bettystown in Co. Meath in 1850 has no direct connection with the Hill of Tara, or the High Kings of Ireland. Apparently, Its provenance was attributed to Tara by a dealer in order to increase its value. It is made of cast and gilt silver and is elaborately decorated on both faces. How strange, that I made this connection.
