Original artwork description:
Oil on deep edge canvas, framed in a simple black tray frame.
On the surface the image is taken from a photographic source but the image is allowed to develop through the process of applying the paint; gestural brush marks and the heightened use of colour add an emotional and expressive dynamic to the work.
The fictional nature of Sal's subjects is apparent – inspired by film scenes and acted roles, with titles that are dialogue lifted from scenes. They are comments, conversations and statements, as oppose to a description of the painting. They refer to a storyline not necessarily immediately apparent when viewing the painting.
This painting is shipped stretched, framed and ready to hang with fixtures on the back of the stretcher. It is signed on the back of the canvas.
