Artwork description:

There's nothing better than cold water swimming for the mind and body and some people are brave enough to do it all year round! This soft ground etching was developed from one of my recent sketches of Lido swimmers.

I redrew my image onto a grounded zinc plate with an etching needle before putting it in acid. Only the exposed line is etched forming deep grooves to hold ink. For the tones, I rolled a soft ground onto the plate and rubbed areas I wanted darker onto a tissue placed over the plate, gently removing areas of ground, before putting the plate back in the acid.

The plate is inked and printed by hand for every number in the limited edition meaning each one is unique.

Orders are wrapped in acid-free tissue, flat-packed between board and shipped signed and tracked within four days.
