Living on a tied island of Portland on the Jurassic Coast of England, every day brings new inspirational impressive sunsets, even if foggy. This small piece is the second in a series of sunsets over the sea. Albeit quite small the variation of colour and light gives a big impact. I’ve painted using both brushes and painting knifes, and often my thumb or fingers. There is just nothing else that will smooth, or mix the paint in the way I want it to. They are usually painted in two stages. The first is an underpainting which is quite flat and is usually the darker colours which is allowed to dry for a couple of days & then the reds, oranges and yellows are added. Packaging includes protective HP balanced paper, polystyrene panels, cardboard and final paper wrapping;to ensure no damage whilst in transit.
