This portrait of an older "gentleman of the road" was created from a reference photograph by Robert Burke. The humour in his eyes and the character in his face appealed to me and I like to think my interpretation using pastel pencils and soft pastel gives the image a 3D effect.

Art Spectrum soft pastels and a mixture of Conte, Derwent and Cretacolour pastel pencils on Art Spectrum colourfix pastel paper
