Its hard to imagine but there are over one billion sheep worldwide. the greatest numbers are farmed in Asia and Africa.
Sheep are prey animals largely defenceless and naturally nervous and easily frightened.
However I have always been intrigued by their hard fierce stare. It was this image I wanted to capture.

Method used - Etching - Hard ground and aquatint on copper plate.

Materials used:

Oil-based printing ink on Somerset Satin paper
