Artist's description:

A limited edition linocut print, made by hand in my studio. The edition is of 35 prints. Printed onto Fabriano Tiepolo (290gsm) paper, and signed, numbered and titled by hand. Each print is presented in a professionally cut, conservation standard mount. The lowest number available from this edition will be selected for customers ordering this print.

At 308 metres high The Shard is one of London's newest skyscrapers and is one of the tallest buildings in Western Europe. I watched it being built in stages when I came in and out of London, and was particularly fascinated by its development when waiting for trains at London Bridge station almost directly underneath the growing structure. First the steel work then the glass cladding. It was a tourist attraction before it was finished as an incredible spectacle, and now of course it's possible to make the trip to the top to take in the breath taking views of London and beyond. Being such a tall structure it was difficult to find a view I was happy with, eventually I settled to this one which I captured while crossing the Millennium Bridge.
