This is the first print I made on my new Albion Press. Actually the press isn't new but over 170 years old, but it was new to me, and more importantly bigger than my previous one, so at last I could work on something on a bigger scale. Covent Garden Station had been in my mind to do for a long while, it's the business of the area that I'm attracted too and it's a lovely part of London to be for quirky shops, restaurants, easy access to many tourist attractions as well as theatres and the Royal Opera House. So naturally I'm there quite a lot. For the first time in ages I was working on a print in landscape format and twice the size of anything I'd done for at least ten years. It was a combination of a labour of love and pure joy to work on!
The actual image size is 46x 33cm printed onto Fabriano tiepolo paper measuring approximately 56x46cm. It will be posted gently rolled, protected with tissue paper, in a cardboard tube.

Materials used:

oil based block printing inks from lino onto fabriano paper
