Original artwork description:

‘Self-portrait’ is a stylised form of self-perception. I painted this artwork while I was going through a very difficult period of my life. As expressionists, I depict emotional experience rather than the faithful likeness of myself. The face is a tool for capturing my psychological response to an unpleasant condition. I use some formal methods, such as grotesque, distorted forms, bright and contrasting colors and caricature-like imaginary to highlight the emotional sensitivity of the subject.

I personally chose the design of the framing that fits best to the artwork.

Materials used:

Coloured Ink
