Original artwork description:

I painted this to express my feelings about abuse - any type of abuse aimed at women or men or children. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. The victims are damaged for life. Those who do not understand the repercussions of the incidents on the victim may get some insight when they look at this piece. On the left is the victim, the child in the background symbolizes keeping the secret of what has happened to the victim - often times like a child they are ashamed or fear telling anyone about the incident. Finally we have the violin player on the right. She symbolizes those who "don't get it" and feel that the victim only needs to forget about it and move on or worse they just think it's the victims "sad story".
