THE SEA INSIDE refers to how women should be strong and not fear. They can have the courage to confront any challenge without been afraid. Its oils and collage on high quality linen. The collage has been painted and modified from the original that was pasted to the canvas. The background as most of my paintings, is texturized to mimic the old walls with signs and papers stuck on them. It also has writings that give messages of hope and love. The theme on this one is the ocean, which is very dear to me as I was born on the coastal town of Cartagena, Colombia. The background is thalo blue, with a beautiful lady with a bright red dress and daisies on her hand. Notice that the petals are falling from the bouquet. There is a nautilus shell completely painted(not collage), and seems to be hanging on the wall.
THE SEA INSIDE is part of the collection, Story of a Woman, a homage to women and their role in society and the family. They are moms, therapists, beautiful, hard workers, cooks, doctors, and many times without needing a degree. This series is all made with oils and collage that has been painted over to enhance the colors. They are all made on linen to ensure the best quality.
