This is a textured and multi-layered painting, inspired by the coast of the Wirral and the saltmarsh in Parkgate (Cheshire) on the Dee estuary. I first visited the area when I was 8 years old and found the saltmarsh fascinating back then - and that fascination has not died over the years.
I used principally acrylics, oil pastels and collage, and also layered, partially removed and cut into the work to create texture. The painting is on a wood 30 cm square panel.
Please note: the painting is sold unframed, but I have included a photo of it in a tray frame for illustration purposes.
