Original artwork description:

Sailing in Moonlight is the first of several pieces I have in mind to make on reclaimed, slighty mishapen, wood offcuts. The quality I am striving for is one of something that has washed up on a beach, slightly faded and worn smooth by the sand, salt and sun. I am working with the patterns already present in the wood, so for example the moon in this little piece is worked over a knot, the ripples in the water the grain and so on. I am working from memory and imagination and hoping for a dreamlike quality, hopefully as I remembered it. There is a simple fixing on the back and so it is ready to hang in a little nook to call home. It is signed on the back of the painting and will come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
