A patch of wild foxgloves, hidden in the woods. Butterflies hover around the violet pink haze of colour, flitting back and forth. The colour is rich and warm, a suggestion of evening light. An impressionist view of a wild patch of flowers. An expressionist frenzy of twisted undergrowth. Painted in a semi abstract style aimed at suggesting rather than replicating the scene, the initial layers of paint are loose, focusing on colour and line. A chaotic undergrowth has been created in an abstract expressionist style reminiscent of Jackson Pollocks thrown and dripped paintings . Palette knifed impasto floral detail bring a focus and clarity to the painting and beautiful, delicate butterflies hover over the tall flowers.
