🎨As you already know, I am a great admirer of Jan Van Eyck and the wonderful technique of the Flemish primitives which consists of a grisaille covered with thin layers of transparent paint also called glaze. I shed my little tear when, for the first time, I was finally able to see with my own eyes "The Arnolfini couple" at the National Gallery. I had dreamed of it so much that it made the 2 guards who were monitoring the painting laugh, telling me that this painting always produced this effect, especially since I did not expect it to be so small given the quantity of details. This is a very careful study.
