I’ve a slight obsession with creating faces. There’s so much that can be expressed through a face and here I wanted serenity. Pure simple calm to emanate from her look. The colour blue helps bring out the overall feeling of calm as do the flowers.
I made this specially with the thought that today is March 8th, International Day of the Woman and I could not be prouder to be part of this group! That through continuing fights for freedom we search for equality and respect. When will the fight end? But until that elusive time occurs we must keep strong and true to our nature.
To all women around the world Stay Strong!
This is a handmade linocut print. I will make 20 and each one will differ in colour texture and placement of flowers and leaves. These are the first 2 in the edition.
