The Piaf La trouille is a unique, fun little sculpture of a bird with... the willies!
With his head tucked into the start of his wings, this imaginary young red bird looks out at the world with a worried gaze, a world full of terrifying legends and lurking predators, worthy of a place in Tim Burton's delirious universe...
It's made from badam shell wood, the fruit of a tree called the "Sea Almond", a tropical tree found in South-East Asia, and surfine wood cellulose, modeled then painted and varnished. Its unusual tail is made from a dried urn of a carnivorous plant called nepenthes.
The Piaf La trouille is part of the Ostreides series, the Ostreides universe aimed at restoring life and soul to abandoned or dry natural wooden materials.
Signed piece.
Material: badam wood shell, surfine wood cellulose, acrylic paint, protective varnish.
Dimensions approx.: height 8 x width 12 x length 19 cm
mintola nut, surfine wood cellulose, conifer branch
