This is part of a recent series of paintings and drawings done during my 15th Wedding Anniversary trip with my wife to Kenting in south Taiwan. It is a very beautiful place that we went to on our honeymoon (actually familymoon as my visiting brother and sister were with us!).
The tropical weather was very sunny and hot, around 38 Degrees, so we would try to avoid going out during the midday heat, which gave me the opportunity to draw and paint the beautiful views!
The ocean in southern Taiwan is very beautiful and I can watch it and paint it all day. The beach and ocean views from the Chateau Hotel are amazing and we were very fortunate to have beautiful views from our room.
I love the different shades of greens, blues, olives and yellows that you can see in the tropical waters.
These pictures were all created from life whilst looking at the beautiful views in the area. At first I drew and painted outside in the shade, but after the heat got too much I would work through the window in the air-conditioned room, much nicer!
I painted and also drew the scenes in Oil Pastel which is a fun material to use as it creates more impressionistic marks.
There were many beautiful clouds around and I wanted to draw some of them. This particular group reminded me of a Phoenix or bird like creature. It’s colours reflected onto the water around the little boats that were out fishing all the time. Clouds are a fun challenge as they are ever changing and moving and are difficult to capture if you’re not quick! It’s a fun challenge for sure!
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
