Original artwork description:

The Panbos is an area of shifting sand pretty much in the dead centre of the Netherlands, close to the city of Utrecht. Forested with mostly Scots pines it is a popular area for walkers. Painting a forest is pretty boring - loads of trees, all looking much the same. Tree after tree. And not to mention the leaves. Loads of leaves - even more than the trees! Even David Hockney, in one of his books, admits to being bored painting some scene or other. But at least he still paints his pictures himself. Other famous artists contract the boring stuff for underlings, and then put their name to it. Art is no different to other jobs - it has it's highlights, but there is a whole load of drudge in between. Here the artist has painted an unusual sky - half pink, half purple - which looked pretty impressive when it was the only thing on the canvas. Now you can barely see it because all those damn trees are in the way. Next the artist thinks he will paint a desert. Not really.
