Artist's description:

A quirky, semi surreal painting triggered by concern for all the endangered species such as elephants which are on the edge and the damage we are doing to our planet and it's fragile ecosystems. One of the Breathe Series that was initially started in response to the 'Trees for Life' Caledonian Forest tree planting project.

I've used part of a large foraged leaf as the 'frame' for the focal area and decided to go for a simplistic, semi abstract background to loosely symbolize the polluted oceans, seas and air and provide contrast. The substrate was roughly textured with gesso and acrylics then overlaid with white inktense to achieve the effect of a slightly messy but relatively plain backdrop without unnecessary clutter.

Initialled on the front, signed on the back of the artwork with a signed certificate of authenticity.

Mounted in antique white mount with black core. It will be framed in a plain black block frame.
