A painting of the old racing track outside Limerick, located between the Dock Road and the start of O'Connell Avenue. Although long gone, the local of the racetrack is used by walkers on a regular basis. There are some remnants of the track left, but these are being taken over by nature.
I used to walk there regularly, especially during the evening time around dusk / sundown. It was like being in the countryside, close to Limerick city, an oasis from all the urban and cityscapes and hustle and bustle.
The the light at dusk is one of favourites and I love to try and capture this time of evening in my work.
