Artist's description:

The area where I live is one of intense agriculture with wild or untended parts in between. This print springs from a drawing I made looking from the roadside into a tiny water channel. There may have been little or no management of the scene in two hundred years. Obscure places, objects and corners of the mind may be pondered, one informs another and refreshment may be found there.

This print is pulled from a relief plate cut from rubber, a variation of letterpress, akin to linoprinting. The completed edition made 6 copies. The print would fit straight into a standard 10x14 inch frame or I can trim the print as you require. Please see the adjacent photograph as to how the image is positioned on the paper. The print is on light Japanese paper and a backing sheet trimmed to the same size is included.

Materials used:

black oil-based printing ink, Japanese Washi paper

obscure corner (2017)
