An original graphite pencil drawing on Stonehenge paper, depicting a Siberian tiger cub, seven months old, lapping water from a pool. My reference photograph was taken at a zoo but as usual I have transposed the little fellow into a more natural setting. The Stonehenge paper allows the artist to exploit different textures and I have put that quality to good use, contrasting the rough textured background with a glassy finish to the water and of course in between there is the mass of fluffy and unruly fur on the cub. This is a large one and therefore I am afraid I will be unable to ship internationally.
Measuring approximately 23 x 16 inches, this piece has been bevel mounted and framed in an antiqued silver gilt frame to a total size of about 31 x 24 inches, ready to hang. I am extremely pleased with how it looks now that it's framed and hung, it makes such a dramatic statement in my studio that I will be reluctant to part with it.
