Many famous sayings are ascribed to King Solomon (c.990–931 BCE). Coming across this scene at Holkham, one such came to mind, “If a tree falls, whether to the South or to the North, wherever it falls, there it will lie.”
This is an original relief print pulled from matrices cut in rubber. The edition is 10 prints only. The sheet is 10 x 13 inches (254x330mm) and the image is about 8 x 10.1/2 inches (203 x 266mm). Please feel free to contact me to put a question or make a remark.
