Artist's description:

A scenic portrait which I painted from a photograph I took in the Galilee Mountains (hills) in Israel, not far from where I live. These ruins of a Crusader Fortress are typical of the area. I love the view from here overlooking the Golan Heights and the Dan River, which flows into the Jordan River. There are many Eagles in this area and I see them soaring above me.
This endangered bird is majestic in flight as on the ground. I couldn't capture it on camera so painted the bird from an illustration , in one of my nature books. As an artist, I can capture in a painting things that are difficult,if not impossible, to capture in a photograph.
This is a large artwork painted in a real and Impressionist style of my own. It is painted on a vintage sugar sack of hessian material which gives it a special texture. This is framed with thin wood strips only, ideal as a focal point for a nature lover, or lover of archeology.

Materials used:

hessian sacking,newspaper lining,wood frame,lacquer,acrylic paints
