Artwork description:

This work is created with my original photographs shot in and around Delhi and Jaipur, juxtaposed with Masters work and other art elements. Time becomes fluid in my works allowing me to fuse disparate images, icons and people from different places seamlessly.

To ‘narrate’ a story on my canvas, I collect characters; through my photography, drawings, from acknowledged works of Masters and other expressions I see in my travels. The carefully assimilated ‘cast’ comes together to role-play and express my inner concerns while also inviting viewers to come and converse with the narrative.

I spend a lot of time, over days and hours end on … constantly reconstructing and building the layers – both digital and with pastels, charcoal and pen, as I deep dive into the work. The process is intuitive; the truth often revealed in the final work. In Mixed Media I’ve found an expressive medium, through which I’m able to create the endless stories I want to share.
