Original artwork description:

This is a charcoal drawing from an in-situ drawing study of a wood near King Alfred's tower. I had gone out for the day in the car, looking for a wood or forest to get lost within and find a quiet spot to sit and draw some trees and nature. I came across this spot and set up my easel, spending a few hours drawing this area in charcoal.

During this period I was drawn to creating a series of black and white works exploring light and shadow and natural forms.

Materials used:

Charcoal Pencil on cartridge Paper.
