Nothing beats a good cup of tea or coffee especially when it is served in the perfect mug and I believe I have found exactly that The Perfect Mug! I bought  a set of mugs from John Lewis a few months ago and I just love them they make me so happy, they are a great size for a large hot drink, they look lovely and the tapered shape (wide bottom and smaller top) keeps the beverage hot for longer and prevents the mug from being knocked over.

So to celebrate I've painted this lone beauty on an 8 x8 inch round wooden cradeled panel using layers of mixed media and acrylics then sealed it with satin varnish. The edges are a washy blue and white stripe and it is ready to hang.

This would make a great gift for any hot drink lover and be a wonderful kitchen artwork adding a quirky warm rustic feel to any home.
