Morning Rise is a painting taking you deep into the distance and observing lonely islands in communication with the sea. Perspective is set at the hill looking towards the sea bay. What you can see are the bright colours of the early morning sunrise in red, orange, yellow, white, beige and dark brown. The eye is drawn to the far point of the sun reflection on the sea surface.
The technique of the painting is done in heavy creamy layers of vivid colours, impasto. Each layer requires a lot of time to dry before another layer is applied. The consistency of the paint is creamy, heavy, saturated paint. With added grain, this painting gives more presence to the viewer.
