This is the latest in a series of paintings, I can’t stop working on. They are mostly focussed on where I live which is in the middle of the Jurassic Coastline, in Dorset UK, a world heritage site. I live on Portland, a small tied island surrounded by the sea and every night I watch the sun go down and am inspired by the brilliance of nature, the energy and wonder of this daily ritual. These scenes sing to me and I pour out my sole in their making. They are small 9” x 12” but quality linen canvas on panel which gives a more solid support for knife painting, which I use a lot, alongside brushes and sometimes other instruments of transfer. I use only professional materials which will last many life-times.
