Artist's description:

Taken in the harbour in Tripoli, Lebanon, this photograph is a study of part of the mooring rope of a local fishing vessel. It invites the viewer to imagine the journey of the fishermen, and, visually, offers a series of contrasts - between the varying colors of the rope itself, and those of the water as it gets deeper the further out the eye travels.

This is part of a series of photographs taken in various worldwide locations where the focus is on the everyday, but seen from a different angle, granting us an insight into that which we take for granted every day, and highlighting the simplicity yet also complexity of that which surrounds us.
