Artwork description:

This is a handmade Linocut print of the iconic steam train, the Mallard. I was always fascinated by this train as when I was a child - we had a Hornby model of it. I now live in York and regularly visit the National Rail Museum to see the real thing! I took photos of the train and then planned my Linocut design. I make my Linocut prints by hand on my etching press. This is an image made by layering three Lino printing plates - one has the light grey tone of the sky, then the blue train body is printed next and finally the black image of the rest of the train is over printed. It is printed on 200gsm white, smooth, high quality paper. This print is one of an edition of 50 and each is numbered and signed. These works represent an affordable way to collect handmade art.

Please note the actual image size is 30 X 20 cm but the paper size is larger as there is a white border of approximately 5 cm around each side of the image to enable you to frame the image as you wish. This print will be packaged in cellophane and posted in a sturdy envelope, strengthened with card. I use Royal Mail to send artwork abroad and it is first class and tracked postage. Small items are sent first class with no tracking within the UK. If I find I have overcharged for postage and packaging, I refund the difference.
