The sands of Luskentyre on the Isle of Harris (Scotland) are perhaps the most beautiful in the world. Whilst there are many beautiful beaches, the sand at Luskentyre is particularly expansive and makes beautiful shapes, whilst the mountain backdrop of the Harris highlands is breahtaking.
This photograph was made in between rain showers as twilight fell, gifting patches of purple light on the clouds as they passed. The dune's marram grasses danced in the strong wind, which a long exposure photograph recorded as beautiful softness that adds to the sense of peace and tranquility that is quite magical in the remote places of the world like this.
