This was a regular view for me when I was growing up in a seaside town on the south coast of the UK. I used to imagine that I could see France on the other side of the the Channel, you could almost touch it. There is so much air and space, even looking out to one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, that it is good for the soul. The little sheds are where the fisherman used to keep their nets and each is numbered.
