The Black Pearl was first built by Frank Lund and Major Mace in 2013. It sadly is no longer on the New Brighton seafront after being damaged by storms. This painting had been in Alison’s mind for a while after seeing this scene a few years ago, so she referenced some of her old photographs and sketches. Let’s hope the pirate ship can be recreated at some point as it was fabulous and enjoyed by many.
