Artwork description:

Returning to the Roots.
Speaking of returning to the roots, we involuntarily awaken in our subconsciousness those pagan images that are associated with deep antiquity and the existence of primeval man, be it a Slavic spring effigy made of hay and personifying the spirit of the rebirth of nature and fertility, or the roots of a mandrake revived in mythological fantasy, revered both on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and in the Middle Kingdom.
The ‘roots’ of polarised civilisations, the East and the West, are bizarrely intertwined with one another in this spring floral composition: Lilac and violet colours refer us to nearing symbols of divinity and nobility in China and symbols of sacred knowledge and divine spirituality in Christian cultures.
