I think this is my latest favourite paper. A convenient size, just the right absorbency for this raw paper, and a thick paper.
I used this pose earlier in a different painting. This time I isolated the one monk, sat him in a colourful swirling setting, possibly a park, possibly the monk’s imagination, or the viewer’s imagination. The monk, he’s just sitting…
The close up picture allows you a better feel for the texture and brush stroke of the painting. The third picture is me holding up the painting for perspective.
