A painting I made while sailing past this magnificent vista. We were pretty close to Raasay which is a long narrow island which lies to the east side of the Isle of Skye. My Dad was really proud as a Callum to belong to the Clan McLeod of Raasay so it was a very special island in our family.
The weather this summer has been fabulous for Scotland although not much wind for sailing!
I drew it with thin charcoal as we slowly sailed by, trying to memorise the slight changes quickly, I threw down some colour washes. I finished the painting later in my studio.
