This is the painting I created last year as one of the "Wild card" contestants of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year competition.
It took place on a very wet day in June and everyone struggled to paint in the rain.
The scene was so beautiful but it would suddenly become invisible with mist, then a sunny spell would change the whole atmosphere and the loch would gleam like silver.
The Vital Spark is a brilliant Clyde puffer, one of the few left on the west coast of Scotland.
Drawn with charcoal and painted with acrylic in less than 4 hours.
