Artwork description:

This is a print of an artwork I created to celebrate the centenary of the Irish Free State (Saorstát Éireann) 1922-2022. When the Irish Free State was first founded, there were three colours on their flag, green representing the Catholics, orange representing the Protestants, and white representing the peace between them. Well, 100 years later, Ireland has progressed to a much more inclusive society with people of all walks of life and many different cultural groups. This is represented by the mutli cloured stripes I have included and the white bands representing the peace and tolerance of the people who now inhabit the island. This print is from a limited edition of 100, and measures 30x30cm. It has been professionally produced on quality watercolour paper, and comes with a signed, stamped certificate of authenticity, and hand-numbered on the back.

Materials used:

digital giclee printing on fabriano 310gsm watercolour paper
