Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

Exquisite reduction linocut in two layers, both rolled with a blend of colours from a smoky grey/aqua to deep blue and from pale gold to autumn brown. It shows two small children exploring a birch wood.

I was inspired initially by an old photograph of my own children, though as I developed the idea I transformed the original leafy beech wood into an autumn birch wood to increase the drama. This was inspired by the spectacular copse of white birches in a local National Trust garden, Anglesey Abbey.

Materials used:

Simili paper and caligo oil based printing ink.
