Before I actually start cutting into a linoblock I can spend an age deciding what it is I want to convey.
Sometimes images pop into my head and it takes no time at all to draw it onto the block and start cutting. However, sometimes I have so many images vying for attention that just the confusion of so many ideas makes me block then come to a crashing halt.
A few months ago this is what happened, instead of writer's block I had artist's block and how ever hard I tried to get a semblance of an idea it would just disappear into a confused mess. So instead of fighting it I went with it. The images got drawn together and even if the rational side of me repeated "confusion!" I ignored it a went along on the muddled ride.
This 3 colour reduction print is the end product of that crazy trip.
