Original artwork description:

When I was a child, some of the adults around me made me believe that being an introvert was wrong. I was constantly pushed into changing how I was but I never did. Having extrovert cousins and aunts that loved gossiping and bullying made it even worse (and they lived 2 blocks from my house!). I am not going to say that this caused me great harm but annoying it was. VERY annoying. Part of me believed that there was something wrong with me. Obviously, years later, life taught me that I am perfectly fine and there's more people like me than the ones I describe above. It turns out, I am the normal one, lol. This painting is NOT about those people. This painting is about the wonderful life introverts can have. Being able to be alone, with ourselves, is a gift in itself. When I am in "my island" I feel at peace. "My island" is a place where creativity and productivity happens, hours can go by without me knowing (until it gets dark, lol). I get all my energy when I am in "my island." The world needs more of us, introverts (yes the world also needs extroverts as long as they are not gossipers and bullies).

This whimsical painting measures 24x18 inches with a depth of 1.5". The sides were painted so it does not need a frame. It's ready to hang!
