"Half Moon Rising" is a heavily textured piece full of bronze, blue, burnt orange, and brown hues.
This painting was created after a recent trip to New Mexico where I was able to be near a sacred spot on a pueblo in the late evening. As I watched the moon began to rise, I knew something special would come from that experience.
This piece has a gloss finish and is on birch panel. The panel has a 2.5" deep pine cradle that is finished in a gloss black - so no frame is needed.
