I've called this sweet greyhound painting Tenderness because I want to commemorate all the lost and ill treated souls around the world. Dogs have such a hard life and are often at the mercy of man, I am a supporter of Project Galgo who are devoted to rescueing the dogs of Spain that are cruelly massacred after the hunting season ends.
Tenderness has been painted with a build up of thin layers of acrylic paint over coloured pencil which gives an overall richness and depth to the dog in contrast to the block coloured background. When you look closely you can see many tiny abstract paintings within.
Like all my work this piece has been sealed with a satin varnish.
To finish this artwork I have framed it with a wooden black tray frame to it is ready to hang.
