Responsibilities make us work longer and harder all the while hoping we don’t get sick. But overwork itself causes burnout and illness. So we take a forced break and hope for a speedy recovery. Repeating this cycle of fake balance compounds the difficulty of fast recovery. Simplifying can bring relief. Simplifying excessive things, thoughts and deeds free up the energy to break the vicious fake balance cycle. We can then breathe deeply and power our inspirations to prioritize how we wish to be. The key word is “how” because we are how we act.
