Original artwork description:

A calm, serene interior scene, where soft rays of morning light slant through tall gothic arches, creating strong shadows and an air of stillness and quiet. Drawn using several layers of brown ink, this scene was inspired by a trip to England, in particular the cathedral and Bishop's palace in Wells, where I spent time observing, drawing and photographing the beautiful historic architecture. This drawing came into being after I returned home to my studio and discovered my photographs from abroad. I began drawing in pencil, over which I painted a light, watery wash of brown ink, followed by darker lines and shadows to create the image, finally picking out the highlights in white pencil.
This work is on paper, so would ideally need to be mounted or framed for hanging.
